Path of Titans is a dinosaur MMO by Alderon Games. A community server gives you your own rules, mods and community. To run one you need two things: a hosting token and a server GUID.
1. Alderon hosting token
The server downloads the game files through an Alderon Games account, so you need to own the game. Generate the token by logging in at alderongames.com/oauth/hosting-token. You enter it when ordering (the Alderon Games hosting token field) and can change it later in the Startup tab (the Auth Token field).
The token is tied to your account - do not share it with anyone.
2. Server GUID
The GUID is a unique identifier of your server. Generate one with any GUID generator (for example guidgenerator.com) and enter it in the GUID field in the Startup tab. Do not change it later - the GUID identifies the server, and changing it can mean losing player data tied to the server.
Other settings (Startup)
- Server name - the name shown in the server list,
- Server Map - the map,
Islandby default, - Branch -
production(the normal game version) ordemo-public-test(testing), - Database mode -
LocalorRemote. KeepLocalunless you connect several servers to a shared database.
The player limit comes from your plan. Restart the server after a change.
First start
On the first start the server downloads the game files with the Alderon tool, which takes a few minutes. If the console shows an authorization error, the token is invalid or has expired: generate a new one and enter it in the Startup tab.
Admins
Admins are set in the server configuration file Game.ini (in the server/PathOfTitans/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/ folder in the Files tab) by their Alderon Games ID (AGID, a number in the 123-456-789 format, visible in the game and in your Alderon account). The exact option names are described in the official Path of Titans hosting documentation - check it after game updates, because they change between versions.
Connecting
Players find the server by name in the community server list in the game, or connect directly by IP address and port from the Network tab.
Updates
The server downloads updates on every start. After a game update restart the server - players with a newer game version cannot join an outdated server.
Backups
The local database stores player progress (dinosaurs, levels). Set up a daily server backup in the client area or in the Schedules tab of the game panel.
EU server in Helsinki, instant setup after payment, backups and full file access.
