What the tool shows
The tool connects to the server exactly like the game does when you refresh the server list. It does not log in and does not take up a player slot. You get the same information players see in the multiplayer menu:
- status - whether the server responds from the internet,
- player count online and the slot limit,
- the server version, for example Paper 1.21 or a version range on servers with ViaVersion,
- the MOTD - the colored server description, with formatting,
- the server icon and the response time.
The server is offline - what to check
If your server does not respond, look at the console first: the server has to finish starting (in Minecraft that is the Done message). Then check the address and port. A server on a home computer is usually not visible from the internet until you forward the port on your router, and many providers do not allow that at all.

How do I check if a Minecraft server is online?
Enter the server address above, the same way you type it in the game, and click Check server. The tool connects to the server just like the game does when you refresh the server list and shows whether it responds, how many players are online, which version it runs and its description (MOTD).
Why is my server offline even though it works for me?
Most often the server is only reachable in your home network because the router does not forward the port. A firewall can also block it, or the server listens on a different port than the one you enter. A hosted server has a public address and works from anywhere.
Does the tool check Bedrock servers?
Not yet. It checks Minecraft Java servers, including Paper, Spigot, Fabric, Forge and Velocity or BungeeCord proxies. Java servers with the Geyser plugin are visible too, because they respond like a regular Java server.
What does the response time mean?
It is how long the server takes to answer a request sent from our server, not from your computer. It shows whether the server responds quickly, but your in-game ping also depends on your connection and the distance to the server.
Do I need to enter a port?
Only if the server does not run on the default port 25565 and the domain has no SRV record. For addresses without a port, such as play.server.net, the tool works like the game: it looks for an SRV record first and then uses port 25565.
